Sex and the City

3 Stars

I picked this book up because I was, for a while, a big fan of the TV show. This is a collection of stories loosely woven together that illustrate the single life in New York City. The television show is a much tamer version. The book had a sarcastic and razor sharp tone that dealt with the trials and tribulations of living in the big apple with a mix of reverence and hatred. The major difference between the book and show was I loved the characters on TV, while I disliked them in the book. Their stories seemed petty and juvenile, which I’m sure was part of the point. It left a slightly bitter taste in my mouth and highlighted the seedy underbelly of living the high life in New York.
